In addiction treatment, in addition to the body's detoxification process from the substance, the person's life also needs to be reorganized. The reason for this is that alcohol and substances change a person's life in many ways. For example, disruptions in areas such as work, education, family, and friend relationships have increasingly worsened. The person has started to lose confidence in themselves and feel lonely. This is where social support comes into play. The Social Worker shows the addicted person that they can achieve what they were able to do before alcohol/substance entered their life. They support and motivate the person throughout the treatment process. They make plans for the evaluation of free time and the realization of activities suitable for the person's skills.

As is known, addiction is a frequently recurring disorder. If the person has a lot of free time, the recurrence of the disease is more common. In this case, the evaluation of free time is of great importance in the treatment process. Social Workers help reintegrate the addicted person into social life. They ensure that the person plays an active role in social life again in various areas such as providing educational support, directing them to vocational training courses, and supporting their hobbies. At the same time, they monitor the person and evaluate their performance during the adaptation process. Thus, by increasing the person's commitment to the treatment process, the successful continuation of their treatment is ensured.
